Caritas Kabale trains vulnerable persons in financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills in order to build their financial capabilities. This is tailored so that they are able to make informed decisions, save money, manage their group finances, develop business plans, proper record management, budget, utilize banking services, and manage debts/loans appropriately under the Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) and Village Saving and Loans Association (VSLA) models
Each established group is supported with a starter capital of UGX. 1,000,000 (one million shillings) to promote and boost Income Generating Activities (IGAs). The starter capital is deposited to each of the group’s account in the local SACCO to link them to financial institutions in the area.
